Travel to Germany

Travel to Cologne today, meet your friendly local tour manager, and head down to the banks of the Rhine where your river cruise ship, A-ROSA AQUA, awaits. After check in, enjoy a first evening at leisure to settle in.

Rüdesheim and Mainz, Germany

Today will be spent exploring Rüdesheim, the heart of Rhine Romanticism, which once inspired poets and musicians. Brahms composed his 3rd symphony in Rüdesheim. While here, be sure to try ‘Rüdesheimer Kaffee’, which was invented here and is a must-try over the festive period.

In the early evening, the ship will continue towards Mainz, where you'll have the evening free to explore the city's Christmas markets, footed at the 1,000-year old St Martin's Cathedral.

Frankfurt, Germany

This morning, A-ROSA AQUA will arrive in Frankfurt, which is home one of Germany's oldest and largest Christmas markets. The market has been a staple of Frankfurt's festive celebrations since 1393, and you'll enjoy an included excursion showcasing the variety this city has to offer, from its modern skyline to the charming old town.

Visit the quaint Sachsenhausen neighbourhood with its apple wine taverns, Romerberg market square, Hauptwache, and Saint Paul's Church, the backdrop to Frankfurt's Christmas market every year.

Scenic sailing to Koblenz, Germany

Today, your A-ROSA ship will cruise through the scenic Lorelei Valley, arriving in the rural town of Koblenz around midday. You have the evening to walk ashore and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere and markets in the delightful old town. The perfect conclusion to to your festive journey.

Return to the UK

This morning, you'll arrive back in elegant Cologne, and (time permitting) you might have the chance to tick off one more Rhine-side Christmas market before heading back to the airport for your return flight.
